As part of the community engagement process for the Denver Fire Station 40 public art project, Team Sijia Chen visited the Green Valley Ranch Boys & Girls Club to connect with local youth through art.
Sijia Chen shared her artistic practice, introduced the vision for the future Fire Station 40 public artwork, and led a hands-on papercut workshop. The event was presented alongside fellow artists Aisha Renee Brown and Jessica Gerome as part of Sijia Chen Studio's Shared Vision program.
The workshop encouraged participants to explore storytelling through papercutting while sharing their own ideas, creativity, and perspectives. These interactions are an important part of the Sijia's community engagement process, helping shape an artwork that reflects the people and neighborhoods it will serve.
