Meeting Our Firefighters

Sijia Chen recently traveled to Denver to meet with members of the Denver Fire Department and gain a deeper understanding of the future station’s role within the community.
The visit included a tour of Denver Fire Station 2, meetings with Denver Fire Department representatives, and a site visit to the future Fire Station 40, which is currently under construction. The studio also had the opportunity to meet with the firefighters who will be assigned to the new station and learn about their daily work, experiences, and aspirations for the future facility.
These conversations and site visits are an important part of the studio’s community engagement process, helping ensure that the artwork responds to the people who will use and care for the space every day.
